What Is the Work Incentive Program / Trial Work Period?

The work incentive program, also referred to as the “trial work period,” is designed to allow people who are eligible for SSDI to test various work skills and abilities based on their disability, with the hope of re-entering the workforce as their medical conditions are improving. For nine months under this program, you can be paid full SSDI benefits regardless of the amount of money you earn from your work.
