How Much Does SSDI Pay Every Month?
If you are approved for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) Benefits, how much you are entitled to will depend on a number of factors including your “PIA” or Primary Insurance Amount.
Those claimants with very high past earnings can receive the maximum monthly PIA, which is $3,345 (as of September 2024). Most claimants, however, will receive a lower amount based on their past earnings, with the average PIA being $1358 (again, as of January, 2022).
Depending on the circumstances of your claim, you may also be eligible for “back pay” and/or “retroactive benefits.”
