Filling out Form 827, also known as SSA-827, is a very important step in the application process for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits. This form allows the Social Security Administration to ask for, and receive, medical records from your medical providers. This is an essential part of the application process, as you will need medical evidence to demonstrate to the Social Security Administration that you are disabled.
